Since their sensational record debut in 1979, CASIOPEA has continued to lead the fusion scene as one of Japan’s premier superbands.Their sound, which literally embodies their
debut catchphrase “Thrill, Speed, Super Technique,” established a completely new musical style that was previously unthinkable—effortlessly blending accessible melodies born of Issei Noro’s exceptional compositional talent with virtuosic technical playing—andThey have released numerous classic songs, such as “ASAYAKE” and “DOMINO LINE.” Their first phase, from their formation in 1977 through 1989,the second phase from 1990 to 2006, and the third phase—which began in 2012, the band’s 35th anniversary, after a six-year hiatus, when they relaunched under the name “CASIOPEA 3rd”—the band has continued to maintain its reputation despite changes in its lineup. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the start of their third phase, and the drumming duties have been passed from Akira Jimbo (special support) to Yoshiyori Imai, who returns as a full-fledged member for the first time in 25 years. As “CASIOPEA-P4,” they are now opening the fourth chapter of CASIOPEA’s history.
