"Beautiful Gorgeous Love" is the theme song for EXILE ATSUSHI’s first solo dome tour, "EXILE ATSUSHI LIVE TOUR 2016 ‘IT’S SHOW TIME!!’," which kicked off on Saturday, May 28.Also included is “First Liners,” the debut song from ATSUSHI’s new band project, RED DIAMOND DOGS, which was surprise-announced during the first day of his solo dome tour at Kyocera Dome Osaka. It has been confirmed that a double A-side single featuring
these two tracks will be released on Wednesday, July 6!
Speaking about his solo dome tour, ATSUSHI himself said, “It’s been 15 years since I debuted as an artist, and I truly felt that this was a milestone—that ‘I’ve finally made it this far.’”Although he has long delivered large-scale entertainment
as the vocalist of EXILE, when performing solo on a dome stage, he is conscious of the fact that “precisely because a dome is such a vast space, I need to focus on the musical aspects rather than the visual ones when delivering my songs.” For
this tour, in addition to the band members who have helped shape his stage performances in the past, he has invited an orchestra,wind instruments, and a chorus, leading a big band of nearly 40 members in total to present a performance centered on live sound. So please look forward to this live show to see what kind of harmony ATSUSHI’s vocals and the big band’s live sound will create!
“Beautiful Gorgeous Love,” the track announced for release this time, is a swing-jazz-infused number produced after a year of development as a song that symbolizes this tour.
Just like the tour, a big band of over 40 musicians participated in the recording, resulting in a track that is, as its name suggests, beautiful and luxurious—allowing you to experience the groovy rhythm, the enchanting ensemble of strings and brass, and the sultry vocals all at once!
ATSUSHI himself shared his thoughts on the song as follows:
“Up until now, I’ve written all kinds of songs—songs that convey important messages, love songs, and upbeat tracks—but I thought it would be nice to have a song that simply sings of courtship. Without making it overly serious, I tried to weave comforting lyrics into the melody and performance to create a cohesive piece.Since most of the instruments were played live, I think we were able to capture the immersive feel of a live performance even on this recording. While I realize these subtle nuances can be hard to convey, I took great care to preserve the atmosphere.”
And this release will also feature a B-side track that’s definitely worth checking out!It will feature a cover of Miyuki Nakajima’s classic song “Ito,” which is
currently airing as the theme song for a Toyota Home commercial. Produced by Satoshi Takebe with a strong focus on live instrumentation, this cover—which embodies a deep respect for the original—is a quintessential ATSUSHI track!
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that this single will include “First Liners” and “Future Break Out” by RED DIAMOND DOGS, a new band project that was surprise-announced on the first day of his solo dome tour!
This release will be a double A-side single featuring “Beautiful Gorgeous Love” by EXILE ATSUSHI and “First Liners” by RED DIAMOND DOGS.
The members of RED DIAMOND DOGS, whose formation was announced this time, consist of four members: ATSUSHI (Vocals) at the center, along with PHEKOO (Keyboards), DURAN (Guitar), and FUYU (Drums)—all of whom connected through New York. Regarding the background of the band’s formation, ATSUSHI said,“In the 15 years since I entered this industry, I’ve been inspired by so many musicians. Through my work with EXILE and my solo activities, I’ve had the chance to meet talented peers whom I truly respect. I felt from the bottom of my heart that if I could make music with these like-minded friends, I might be able to see a whole new world and deliver a fresh musical vision.We’ll be expressing the kind of music we couldn’t fully convey through our work with EXILE or our solo projects.” We can’t take our eyes off their future activities!
