Tetsuo Sakurai (bass), Akira Jimbo (drums), and Minoru Mukaiya (keyboards)—three members who were part of the early lineup of “Cassiopeia,” one of Japan’s leading fusion bands—began performing as the “Katsushika Trio” in 2021.They performed live at five venues acrossTokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Yokohama, sweeping audiences of all ages—from longtime fans to younger generations—into a whirlwind of excitement.
Riding that momentum, they released their long-awaited first full-length original album, *M.R.I_Mirai*, which topped the Jazz, Classical, and Other Genres category of the Oricon Weekly Album Chart dated November 6, 2023, and was met with critical acclaim.
