On January 14, 2026, they released their fourth major-label album, *PERFECTLY DEFECTiVE* (pronounced: Perfectly Defective).As thetitle “PERFECTLY DEFECTiVE” suggests, the theme of this album is “the ‘perfect self’ that emerges precisely because mismatched and distorted elements blend together.”By overlaying his own very existence with his
uncategorizable musicality, he has arrived at the conviction that “this is Novel Core.” As his fourth major-label release, this album serves as a declaration of a “new beginning,” standing in place of a noun.
The album features a total of 14 tracks, including numerous new songs.
Under Novel Core’s overall direction, 13 tracks were produced by his co-producer JUGEM and members of his house band, THE WILL RABBITS. The remaining track was produced by Xansei, a producer who has worked on songs for various top artists both in Japan and abroad.
The Deluxe Edition includes a wealth of video content, such as live footage from the final performance at the sold-out CLUB CITTA’ in Kawasaki, as well as behind-the-scenes footage offering a glimpse into the album’s production and music videos.
Furthermore, the Deluxe Edition comes in a three-sided slipcase and includes a 40-page photobook in addition to the video disc, resulting in a premium package that exudes a sense of exclusivity.
