This is the trio’s long-awaited concert in Japan—their first in 16 years since their 1996 trio tour <1996>! December 19, 2012 Akasaka ACT Theater, Tokyo.

In 2012, after a 16-year hiatus, they released “THREE,” a collection of self-covers featuring piano, cello, and violin. This video captures their December 19 performance at the Akasaka ACT Theater in Tokyo—one of 12 concerts held across 10 cities in Japan and South Korea to promote this new album.
The cellist is Jacques Morelenbaum, a close friend of Ryuichi Sakamoto,
and the violinist is the young and talented Judy Kang. Please enjoy the members’ superb performance, showcasing the perfect chemistry they displayed on the album “THREE,” which was produced in Portugal following their EU tour.
