3: The album features representative Miyako folk songs such as “Miyako no Ayagu” and “Amagoi no Kuichā.” 4: “My Teacher,” dedicated to his mentor, Genji Kuniyoshi, is a deeply moving original composition.
5: Isamu Shimoji, a singer-songwriter from Miyako Island, joins on guitar for the Miyako nursery rhyme “Bangamuri” and the moral song “Family Harmony.” Both tracks turned out beautifully.
6: Veteran Keiko Higashi plays the shima-daiko, while Akama-mi (Akane Murayoshi and Manami Uechi) provide the accompaniment.
7: Veteran musician Yoshimi Aragaki plays the sanshin on “Kuchā for Rainmaking.” 8: With the teachings of Genji Kuniyoshi—a leading authority on Miyako folk songs—close to his heart, Tadayuki Matsubara has spread his wings even wider.
