Singer Asako Toki, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut this year and continues to be actively involved in various projects—including the release of a greatest hits album, a live tour, and collaborations with various artists—has released her first original album in about three years, titled “Lonely Ghost.” She teamed upwith sound producer Yo Toomi for the first time in about five years, and the two co-produced every track on the album.She refers to the sense of dissonance lurking in
ordinary daily life and the inexplicable things encountered in everyday existence as “mysteries,” expressing them through this album. The strange and bizarre lives of humans,
constantly shifting between the ordinary and the extraordinary, are depicted in a way that is both exhilarating and wistful, yet sparkling.
Having reflected on her 20-year musical career with the best-of album released in April, she now takes a bold yet lighthearted step forward into her 21st year with this original album.
She will also hold a tour in February 2025, visiting three cities: Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
