In 2014, the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra entered its 25th anniversary year.To celebrate their own 25th anniversary and further energize the music scene, Ska-Para—who are taking on a new challenge with their “Band Collaboration Trilogy” featuring producer Seiji Kameda—has announced the second collaboration band.The second collaboration band chosen by Ska-Para is the nationally beloved three-piece band “MONGOL800”!
Their track “Senko feat. 10-FEET” (released in December 2013), featuring “10-FEET” from the first installment, was highly acclaimed by music fans and band kids alike,and received explosive airplay on FM radio stations nationwide. This first installment of the “Band Collaboration Trilogy” generated an extraordinary buzz, and as anticipation swelled with the question, “Who will be next?”, the second collaboration has finally been announced.
The recording took place in a studio filled with smiles, yet permeated by the underlying tension between the Ska Paradise and Monpachi members. They instantly channeled their utmost concentration and, just like the first installment, “Senko feat. 10-FEET,” recorded the track in a single take.
Furthermore, this track was brought to life by Kiyosaku’s miraculous vocals—which, despite containing sadness and melancholy, embrace everything—and by the rock-solid backing vocals of MONGOL800’s Takashi Gima and Satoru Takasato. The title of
this miraculous song is “In This Ever-Changing World feat. MONGOL800.”It’s a song perfectly suited for the season of March, when
it will be released.
“In This Ever-Changing World feat. MONGOL800” is undoubtedly the birth of a classic that will be sung along to time and time again.
At the same time, the artist photo and CD jacket were also unveiled.
The artist photo was taken in Okinawa—MONGOL800’s hometown—where all members of Ska Paradise traveled to pose together, all 12 of them dressed in matching suits.
The CD jacket features the faces of all 12 members from both Ska Paradise and MONGOL800, creating a design with a powerful impact that fully conveys the spirit of this band collaboration.
The B-side features Ska Paradise’s take on “Burn,” a classic by Deep Purple—one of the world’s most famous hard rock bands, with global album sales exceeding 100 million copies (which they also performed during last year’s “STAND OUT!” live house tour).It also includes the instrumental track “Eastern Blues,” which fully showcases Ska Paradise’s coolness and style. Additionally, the instrumental version of “In a World That Flows On feat. MONGOL800” is included, so be sure to listen closely to experience how this miraculous collaboration between Ska Paradise and Mongol800 has turned out.
The first-press limited edition comes in a deluxe paper sleeve, and the DVD includes not only the music video for “In a World That Flows On feat. MONGOL800,” but also footage of Ska Paradise and MONGOL800’s recording rehearsals, the actual recording session,as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the artist photo shoot in Okinawa and the music video production—all featuring Ska Paradise and Mongol800.
