Ryuichi Sakamoto’s Original Soundtrack for the Film *Ichimei* Is Now Available!The film *Ichimei*, starring Ebizo Ichikawa, was officially selected for the Competition section at the 64th Cannes International Film Festival. *Ichimei* is an adaptation of the novel *Ibun Rōnin-ki* by historical fiction author Yasuhiko Takiguchi, directed by Takashi Miike as the first 3D period drama.Although the original novel was adapted into the 1962 film *Seppuku*, this new version is not a remake but a re-adaptation, depicting the lives of two samurai who, despite their poverty, defied samurai society in their desire to live alongside their loved ones.Alongside Ebizo, the film brings together a stellar cast representing the Japanese film industry, including Eita, Hikari Mitsushima, and Koji Yakusho!! For Sakamoto, the score for *Ichi-Mei* marks his first film score in about three years, since François Girard’s *Silk* (2008)♪
