Since their sensational recording debut in 1979, CASIOPEA has continued to lead the fusion scene as one of Japan’s premier supergroups.Their sound, which literally embodies theirdebut catchphrase “Thrill, Speed, Super Technique,” established a completely new musical style that had been unthinkable until then—effortlessly blending accessible melodies born of Issei Noro’s exceptional compositional talent with virtuosic technical playing—andThey have released numerous classic songs, such as “ASAYAKE” and “DOMINO LINE.” Their first phase spanned from their formation in 1977 through 1989;
the second phase from 1990 to 2006, and the third phase—which began in 2012, the band’s 35th anniversary, after a six-year hiatus, when they re-launched under the name CASIOPEA 3rd—the band has continued to maintain its reputation despite changes in its lineup.From 2022 to 2024, the drumming duties were passed from Akira Jimbo to Yoshiyori Imai, marking the band’s fourth phase as CASIOPEA-P4.
In May 2025, Jun Abe joined as a new member, and to mark this occasion, the band entered its fifth phase, reverting to its original name, CASIOPEA.
Their first live tour, “NEW MEMBER’s GIG 2025,” featuring shows at Billboard Live Osaka, Billboard Live Tokyo, and Billboard Live Yokohama, has drawn attention not only from music fans but also from professional musicians.
