THE MORTAL is a project featuring members Atsushi Sakurai (vocals), Jake Cloudchair (guitar), Yukio Murata (guitar), Ken Mitsuyo (bass), and Takahiko Akiyama (drums).
Exploring “life and death” and the essence of humanity—the malice and hatred lurking in the depths of the soul, the passion and reason wavering between them, the friction and alienation arising from society, organizations, and the outside world, self-love and self-restraint,
and a dark, murky inner world—the band members’ production style brings Sakurai’s unique lyrical universe to life. The album features 12 tracks that allow listeners to experience the worldview that is Sakurai’s true masterpiece—a blend of decadence and
gothic elements, dramatic, beautiful, and highly original.
