Anji Ikebata delivers a fresh performance as Kiyoko Yoshida, the overly anxious class president who can’t bring herself to ignore Yano-kun after seeing him covered in injuries. Having served as the brand ambassador for Pocari Sweat—often called the “gateway to stardom for popular actresses”—this marks her first appearance in a live-action film.
Kaito Nakamura, a member of the seven-member male idol group Travis Japan—which made its global streaming debut in 2022—plays Yudai Hashiba, the school’s most popular boy who excels at sports and has a crush on Yoshida. This film marks his movie debut.
Yano’s classmates are played by a fresh, up-and-coming cast, including Mizuho Shirakiya, Riku Niinuma, Keigo Ito, and Ayame Tsutsui.
The film is directed by Takehiko Shirojo, known for *Come Kiss Me at Midnight* (2019) and *But Chikihiko Is Too Sweet* (2023). The director, who has helmed numerous blockbuster romantic hits, carefully portrays the youth of high school students with unprecedented purity.
